Big Blue Bar Brawl PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 15 March 2009 16:06
One of our good friends over at Mike Valenti's SportsInferno.com tipped us off to this.  Scorekeepers in AA tried to keep a lid on it, but word on the street is that Donovan Warren and Brandon Graham got themselves (and other UM athletes) into a bit of a scrum

Born to be Blue PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 08 February 2009 10:03
One of my favorite things about college sports is now completely and totally diehard the fans are. Facts and logic play absolutely no part in creating opinions and having beleifs about the home team. My favorite Michigan homer is Jake over at Motown Sports Revival.  He is so maize and blue that he dreams in green. Anyhow..  Jake has a POV on DickRod that makes a great read this morning...  check it out. Transitioning a football program from a pro-style offense to a spread offense is tough enough regardless of the situation. When that transition takes place in the face of a relentless media storm at an elite program that has historically fought change, the job becomes a nightmare.…

Illinois a house of horrors for Michigan PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 16 January 2009 07:10
It was a horror story in Champagne, Ill. Who scripts these things? Stephen King? The University of Illinois handed Michigan a 66-51 loss Wednesday night and might have exposed a very big weakness for the Wolverines. U-M might be a donut team. It has lots of tasty parts on the outside but it has a big hole in the middle. Illinois attacked Michigan’s middle and it was a mismatch. Michigan center DeShawn Sims had a miserable night. One of the leaders in rebounds in the Big Ten looked more like Pee Wee Herman in the middle. The 6-8 junior scored Michigan’s first four points in the game and then missed 11 of 12 shots. He had just seven points and two rebounds on the night Michigan scored a s…

Big Will says NO to Michigan PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 29 December 2008 08:54
bigwillIn news which is sure to shock the Wolverine recruiting world..  William Campbell officially announced on Saturday that Michigan is OFF his list of schools he will be attending in the fall. Evidently, Michigan added Campbell's name to the list of early enrolling freshman as a last ditch attempt to lure the big man to Ann Arbor, but Big Will made it clear to everyone that he was not coming to Michigan in this video :

Big Will enrolled at UM ? PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 24 December 2008 11:19
The Michigan Daily posted this very interesting tidbit earlier today: Someone named William Michael Campbell created a uniqname at Michigan today. Here is the directory listing. No word on whether this the five-star football prospect from Detroit. I realize that coincidences are always possible, but the chances of this being someone other than the William Campbell Michigan is recruiting seem slim. Although Campbell is not announcing his decision until January 3, he can't wait until then to register. Since he is enrolling early, he has to get registered for classes and things like that somewhat in advance. The semester begins on January 7, so there's no way he could wait until four days …

Michigan dumping the 3-3-5 ? PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 24 December 2008 11:18
With signing day fast approaching, teams should be locking up their prized recruits...  how do you lock up your top defensive players when they don't know who their Defensive Coordinator is or even what defense they are going to be running. Well, it appears that I'm not the only one wondering why Michigan hasn't hired a DC yet.

Triple-X strength Michigan Kool-Aid PDF Print E-mail

There is being a fan..  then being a supporter.   Then being a crazed fan and then being a blind supporter. But when you write a blog like this...   you have crossed over the line and entered the rhealm of crazed, blind, "where's-jim-jone-I-need-another-cup" XXX kool-aid supporter. Jake's a good guy and the stuff he writes at Motown Sports Revival I like...  you should check it out. Here is an excerpt from his Michigan swill...  take a sip, if you like it, go check out the rest: Exactly seven years ago, Rich Rodriguez sifted through the aftermath of his inaugural season at West Virginia. Nobody knew what the future held. Rodriguez tried to explain that things would get better and…

Rich Rod takes Strike One PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 20 December 2008 13:36
The first nail is in the coffin..    the first strike across the plate. I said from the first day his name was rumoured that he was the wrong guy for the job..   and this year's defense and the fiasco at defensive coordinator and how the defense was put together just proves it.This was a complete farce. I don't care about the West Virginia lawsuit nonsense. I don't care about the #1 jersey and captain traditions that were changed or almost changed. I don't care about Ryan Mallett, Justin Boren, Alex Mitchell or any of the other players that RR "chased off", because contrary to what the geniuses at the Detroit Free Press would have you believe, he didn't chase them off. I don't care if RR …

McGuffie receives release PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 12 December 2008 17:23
We first reported this on November 18th: In today’s weekly Big Ten teleconference, Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez said sophomore Zion Babb was no longer with the team. Rodriguez said the wide receiver hasn’t been with the team since Sunday. That's not the big news..  that was expected.. What wasn't expected is: Sophomore LB/S Artis Chambers and Freshman RB Sam McGuffie. Yup..  McGuffie is leaving UM. And then we expanded upon the how's and why's on December 6th: We knew something, couldn't say how we knew it..  so he had been sitting on it, but when Brian at MGoBlog.com led with a story, we also went with it, because we knew it was true. It has been reported that Sam had cleaned out his lo…
