Total
Although the PAC 10, SEC, Big 12, C-USA and Big 10 could be lacking a total of 8 teams, the ACC, Big East, WAC, MAC and Sun Belt should have 10 extra teams available to fill the gaps. Perhaps we need another bowl for those final 2.
The recent moves by the Sun Belt and WAC to position themselves as alternates in several bowl games may well pay off this year.

OK, we've run down which teams are bowl eligible and which conferences have filled their bowl slots, so the only thing left to ponder are the updated bowl game projections.
