Allen Iverson has gone from being a one-man economic stimulus plan for the city's downtown casinos to persona non grata. He has spent a ton of money down there, but recently he's been banned from both MGM and Greektown casinos.
The NBA is looking into a disturbance at Greektown that involved one of Iverson's body guards. Iverson may have been trying to act as a peacemaker but his body guard was involved in some kind of tussle.
Iverson, though, has been banned mostly for his boorish behavior. He is a bad loser, and he loses a lot, often throwing his chips or cards at the dealer. He has been warned about improper behavior at the tables repeatedly. He is often loud and disruptive, according t… |

Pistons fans are not happy with the way the season has gone.
In fact, we here at LSR have been saying since before the season even began that we weren't happy with the way the team was put together, whom the players were and who the coach was.
All that being said, the hot topic de jour is "Should the Pistons consider trading Tayshaun & Rip for Amare ?"
Here is one person's POV on that idea:
Would you do it?
PRESENTING AMARE STOUDEMIRE
Amare Stoudemire is 6"10, 249 pounds. With career averages of 21.0 points and 9.0 rebounds an outing. Up that to 25.9 and 10.4 in the playoffs.
He is a superstar who the fans voted a starter in this years (his fourth) All-Star Game. He is only 26 … |

Excellent blog post the other day from Motown Sports where the guys talked about what Joe D was going to have to do from this point forward to save this team.
Among the things discussed.. what to do with the Pistons expiring contracts.. if Lebron and Kobe might be on the radar and other ETO's to consider.
Here is a snip.. hit the blog for the whole thing...
When Joe D shipped Chauncey Billups to Denver for Allen Iverson, the fact that the Pistons would have A.I.’s services on the court for the rest of the season was just an added bonus. Whether A.I. actually meshed with the Pistons was irrelevant. The main reason—and likely only reason—Joe D made the trade was because of the insan… |

We’re going to find out very soon whether Michael Curry can hack it as an NBA coach. NBA coaches have two responsibilities: 1) make sure there is discipline and 2) get out of the way. I’m pretty sure that’s why the majority of NBA coaches get fired for either having an undisciplined team or getting in the way. Right now, Curry is in the way and he needs to do something about it like yesterday. Rip Hamilton went down with a groin injury on December 26th. In his absence the Pistons went 6-2. Since his return on January 13th, the Pistons are 2-6. So, everything is Rip’s fault, right? I’m not buying it. I’m not the biggest Hamilton-fan but he hasn’t even started the last three games. That’s not … |

I have wondered about this Michael Curry experiment from the beginning, I never like it when people hire a guy who is their friend without checking resumes of more qualified candidates. Beyond that it was always a mystery to me how Joe Dumars thought Curry with a whopping one year as an assistant coach was more qualified to lead his team than a man as experience as Flip Saunders. It wasn’t until today, however that I totally gave up all faith in Coach Curry. The reason he lacks the spine to stand by his own comments and to do what is clearly in the best interest of his team if his players object to it. |

As most of the LSR crowd knows, I've been fairly hard on Joe D & the 'Stones over the past few weeks.
Today I thought I'd present an oppossing view, a much more positive view, on the Pistons and the way the team is going.
A Robdiddy production, this blog post is brought to you courtosey the fine folks at the SportsInferno.com
In early November the biggest trade since the Pistons acquired Rasheed Wallace happened. Suddenly the captain of the team, Mr.Big Shot, Chauncey Billups was gone. The team was in turmoil and still won their first game without him, but when Allen Iverson joined the team they were awkward together. Not until Antonio McDyess’s return did this team start to flow agai… |

Found under the Piston's Christmas Trees yesterday morning..
1. For Allen Iverson : Good Health
The Answer left Tuesday’s 104-98 victory over the Bulls with a stained groin and is currently listed as day-to-day. It is imperative that A.I. gets healthy ASAP. The team is still trying to gel with their new star player and any extra practice time during the holiday season would be wasted if Iverson wasn’t able to partake. Sounds familiar.
2. For Walter Herrmann : More Playing Time
No, not more cow bell, but more playing time for Mr. Herrman. He needs to play more. The crazy Argentinian when he plays puts up solid stats, he always give 100% effort, plays some defense and he provides a… |
