When looking back on the 2002 Spartan football season one can come up with a range of emotions. I still think back to those August mornings on the show talking about schedule projections and possible big games. What started out with such promise, ended up bursting into flames and smoldering slowly for all to see.

Eastern Michigan looks to be repeating history.. going after a successful Grand Valley coach to save its struggling football program.
EMU has done this before, back in 1982, Eastern tapped Jim Harkema from GVSU. Harkema took over a program which had only 2 wins total over the previous 3 years and within 4 years EMU had won a MAC Championship.
