Tonight's expected guests are Paul Page and Joe Dewitte

pagephotoPaul Page was the 2009 Eddie Sachs Jr Award at the 2009 MARFC banquet saying

Late 1960 I wrote a fan letter to Eddie and sent it to the Speedway. They forwarded it to Eddie and a week later he wrote back. Can you imagine my excitement at holding an envelope from Eddie Sachs? The envelope carried the logo of the Champion 100 MPH Club. The club was an elite group of men who averaged 100MPH or better in the Indianapolis 500, a big achievement in those days. The letter had the same logo and was hand written. Eddie didn’t send back a pat answer or a hero card. Eddie wrote me back!.”

Joe Dewitte is the owner and promotor of Auto City Speedway in the Flint area

“We have changed the name of the Lead Sled division to Pure Stock.  With the success of the Lead Sled division at Auto City, tracks around the state went to that type of racing.  Most of them though call them Pure Stocks.  Our drivers have found that calling them "Lead Sleds" makes it hard for them to find sponsorship, so we decided to go to the more common "Pure Stock" name.”
